About

A notebook about the last — not the haul.

This is not a storefront. It is not a closet. It is a short list you can open when you already know you need a shoe and refuse to audition forty lookalikes.

Each pair is read the same way: last, heel, counter, and whether it survives the night it was bought for. The verdict is one breath. The link, when there is one, is one.

Voice: exacting, warm, a little dry. Unimpressed by a drop unless the last is good.

If the errand is a gift, do not send another generic loafer. Read the rooms. One pair. If you need twelve, the shoe is not the problem.
